Yesterday at the Moscone Center in San Fransisco Apple unveiled the new version of its mobile operating system calling in a “major release.” Though Steve Jobs was present and adorned the evening, the iOS 5 and its improved features were introduced by Scott Forstall. The fifth generation iOS comes with more than 200 new features that is going to power new devices of Apple coming this fall.

The iOS 5 is the best version of Apple’s platform and includes many features that are quite anticipated by many users. Among them Apple distinguish ten important ones.

Of course, the most awaited feature was new notification system which was the worst thing in iOS 4. Not it is called Notification Center and like Android OS you just have to swipe down from the top of screen. In the open window you’ll see all notifications referring messages, calendar alerts, email, social networking updates and app updates. Besides these notifications, stock and weather widgets will be located on top, unfortunately we don’t know whether they will be updated live.

Second, Apple offers a special bookshelf called Newsstand that allows users list all their magazines and newspapers. So now you can gather all your subscriptions in one place and easily manage them all, for example to purchase and download issues for offline viewing.

Third, iOS 5 comes in a deep integration with Twitter. This means all your contacts and many apps (Camera, Photos, Safari and Maps) are also Twitter-ified.

Next, iOS 5 comes with a new Mobile Safari browser which is called “the best mobile browser out there” by Apple. Now it supports tabbed browsing and a special button in the address bar called safari Reader cleans all distractions while you are viewing a page.

Fifth, Apple offers Reminders feature that allows users to store multiple lists even set a certain area for this deal, for example, it will remind you to do something when you leave or arrive in a certain area.

Sixth, iOS 5 comes with an alternate version to access Camera now you can get there with the app icon straight on the lock screen taking you to the interface, and pressing volume up to take a photo. But this is not the all as developers have worked hard to change the way Apple devices are working with camera. So now you can hold down your finger in the camera interface to autofocus and highlight the exposure. Moreover, pinch-to-zoom functionality is possible to use directly in Camera app.

Next, Apple made an overhaul in Mail app, and now we have very anticipated mailing system. First of all users can search a certain mail within the whole content of the message. The formatting bar has been changed wholly and now you can use bold, italics and underlined controls as well as a universal dictionary.

The eight, iOS 5’s onscreen keyboard can be split into two to ease the messaging process when you hold the device with two hands.

Ninth, now your iOS 5-powered device can be sync to computer wirelessly. Generally iOS 5 is very good when words come to connectivity, because when you take it out from box it will activate over the Internet. Plus, when new updates are available, the system will install only those that are changed in the platform, instead of whole thing.

And finally, Apple’s Game Center is something new as it has found its way within 50 million users already. The main reason of it is a deep integration with social networking sites. Now users can share scores that will help other players choose between different games with different scores. All games can be downloaded and purchased directly from Game Center.

Ah, I forget to say one of the most amazing features is iMessage for all iOS users regardless the device they work on. Now users can send any kind of messages with any content to a single recipient or inside a group, and receive similar messages, or even see when other users are typing.

About other news we’ll talk in coming days, but the abovementioned ones are quite pleasant. I guess Android has got much to concern.
