It looks like Apple is inspired by enhancing its devices with Bluetooth 4.0 technology, I mean the Macbook Air and Mac Mini 2011 edition. Since these devices were launched every day more and more people are interested in it. So we have all reasons to think the iPhone 5 will support it too.
Switching from NFC to Bluetooth 4.0 now gets some sense and I begin to understand why Apple didn’t hurry to pack its devices with NFC chips. Generally, Nokia has got the most handsets with such technology, and if we look how Apple heats Nokia, we can also assume Apple is slier and will go forward of Nokia in this case too.

Anyway, Bluetooth 4.0 is powered by BLE (Bluetooth low energy) technology which allows users to transfer data via it using around half the peak power consumption of the “classic” Bluetooth. It is more comfortable for devices that are slim and equipped with small batteries. So if the iPhone 5 will be sicker than the iPhone 4 it’ll be better to use the Bluetooth 4.0. But along with the advantages it has got a serious lack—the transfer rate is about one tenth of the full fat Bluetooth.
But I am almost sure Apple will use it in the iPhone 5 because it lets one toggle between low power or high power modes. This is one more reason why Apple can replace the NFC with Bluetooth 4.0.
